I break for open houses and honestly find myself underwhelmed by the presentation. For me, as a longtime event and marketing executive, it's second nature to want to create a little razzamatazz. Don't we all need a little sparkle in our lives! So why do so many stop short at the front door? Most people assume refreshing a home before selling is going to take way too much time and an additional boat load of money! Well it can, if you don't know how to do it!
However, the sale or purchase of a home represents a family's largest investment. Listing your home without giving some thought to how it will be perceived can cost so much more in the long run.
